The odds were even - Bowe proved himself against Holyfield, but his Olympic loss haunted his pro career. However, many remained skeptical about the Big Brit, believing his wins over Ruddock and Bruno to be either flukes or lucky punches.

At today's official press conference for the Klitschko vs. Povetkin fight set for Sept. 11, the Ukrainian champion, Wladimir Klitschko, had to pose with a cardboard version of Alexander Povetkin because his opponent didn't show up. Povetkin, who suffers from sinusitis, sent Klitschko a fax at 11:50 pm yesterday stating he would not be in attendance at the press conference in Frankfurt.

Former 4-time National Champion Eric Kelly was in attendance for Zab Judah's TKO3 win over Jose Armando Santa Cruz. After the impressive victory Judah informed fans he intends to face the top light welterweights in the world, specifically naming champions Amir Khan, Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander as desirable opponents. When Judah recently appeared on ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG episode 175 he promised fans they would see the old Zab Judah again. Kelly liked what he saw from ringside.

Across the Atlantic a hungry lion was training. Lewis was working under the tutelage of Pepe Correa, the man who trained; Simon Brown, the great Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard and Maurice Blocker. Correa was working on the boxing skills of Lewis - molding him into a 6’5 250lbs. Sugar Ray Leonard. Correa had Lewis working on his jabbing, jabbing and more jabbing.
