Miguel Cotto has officially given up the ghost. The indomitable fighting spirit that propelled him to face arguably the greatest list of competitors between the light welterweight and junior middleweight divisions this era, has left left the once great Puerto Rican superstar. He remains a shell of his former self as a result.

The boxing world has eagerly awaited an announcement revealing who the lineal middleweight champion would face next since he defeated WBC World Champion Sergio Martinez at 155lbs. in June of 2014. Fans who held on to hopes against industry rumblings that Cotto would face the boogie man of the middleweight division, undefeated Kazakh, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, were left with dreams dashed and a portrait of a once-great future Hall of Famer forever tarnished in their minds following Monday's reports of Cotto's opponent for June 6.

ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG's Central Valley of California Correspondent, Royalties "RC" Cerrillo recently reached out to the popular Steve Austin Show, for Stone Cold's comments about boxing's upcoming super-fight between this generation's greatest fighters, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. The retired professional wrestling superstar, who hosts 2 popular television shows in addition to his podcast, was as direct and to the point about the fight of the century as one would expect from his in-ring alter ego.

"Am I gonna throw down some money to watch Manny Pacquiao take on Floyd Mayweather? I'll tell you what, I'm gonna bypass on spending my hundred bucks because I think Floyd Mayweather is gonna handily win this fight. I'd love to see Pacquiao win this thing and upset Floyd Mayweather, but it just ain't gonna happen. Mayweather has so much talent, he's so damn quick and fast...I mean he's had the career that he's had. That's with all due respect to Manny Pacquiao to have the career that he's had. He's a legend in his own right in his home country and around the world, but Floyd 'Money' Mayweather is simply too dynamic."
